Kids Upcycling Club

Hajeong Lee and Ella Cajigao (with mentor Megan Roe) used their grant from the Bloomberg Youth Climate Action Fund to create a microbusiness that focuses on making gorgeous jewelry out of plastic bottle tops. Bottle tops are notoriously difficult to recycle.

Their goal is to repurpose plastic waste into something cool, and in so doing reduce the impact of plastic waste on our community.

You can help! You can donate clean bottle tops (email us for drop off location) and you can purchase jewelry from them at the Hastings Farmers Market, the Hastings Flea and the Good Witch Coffee Bar's Kids Market. Check out their products on Instagram. The kids are donating all proceeds to The Ocean Cleanup.
